About

Professional dictation, treated like real infrastructure.

Published by · Updated

DictateHub is built and managed by Motu Dev LLC. We created it for work where a recording is only useful when it carries the right context, follows a dependable naming convention, and reaches the system that needs it. The product combines a focused recorder with structured metadata, barcode and database lookup, hands-free controls, and user-configured export destinations.

Why structured dictation matters

Ordinary voice recorders save audio. Professional workflows also need to know which client, patient, case, job, location, inspection, or assignment the recording belongs to. DictateHub calls that context an index field. A field can be entered manually, prompted for each take, populated from a barcode, or retrieved from a system the user controls. Filename templates then turn those values into consistent, sortable output.

Designed around user-controlled systems

DictateHub does not operate a service that receives recordings or their metadata. Audio remains on the device until the user exports it. Database lookups connect to an endpoint the user configures, credentials remain in the iOS Keychain, and exports go to a local folder, Files, iCloud Drive, S3-compatible storage, or another configured application. That boundary is both a privacy choice and an architectural principle.

Built for repeatable work

The hardware-inspired interface and foot-pedal support are intended to reduce interruption during repetitive capture. Work queues can prefill the next assignment, barcode scanning can reduce typing, and verified exports help confirm delivery. The goal is not simply to record more audio; it is to make every take understandable and ready for the next system.
